Gujo-hachiman guesthouse Machiyado came to life as an accommodation facility, the idea was born from making effective use of an empty house through renovation, and creating a space for exchange. We would like our guests to get a taste of the daily life in Gujo-hachiman while enjoying our guesthouse as the base for traveling and information exchange.
In Gujo-hachiman, the number of foreign visitors is increasing year by year, however, foreign tourist information is still lacking and we are trying our best to improve and provide for their needs.
We try our best to make guests feel comfortable staying at Machiyado by dissolving language barrier and nationality differences, but please excuse us for any inconveniences caused because of our lack of English information and due to our guest house being run by one person only.

Facility
Lounge/living room & Kitchen
- Our kitchen is available for guests including a fridge, cookware, and seasonings.
- Kitchen may not be available during events running at Machiyado.
Shower room & Washroom
- The use time of shower room
Shared shower room(1F) 16:00-9:30 - Shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hair dryers are available.
- Please bring your own bath or face towels.
- We rent bath towel and sell toothbrush. Please see below.

About rooms
- We have two rooms and one female dormitory room available.
- Castle view Tatami room and Female dormitory rooms are separated by paper sliding doors,they are not soundproof.
- Please make your own bed.
- No drinks and food allowed in any rooms (Please drink and eat in the lounge/living room).

There are four bunk beds in the room. Each bed has a curtain for your privacy.
Bathroom and shower will be shared on the first floor.

- Due to our old structure, it may creates a difficult situation for seniors. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
- Our stairs is steep, but it doesn’t have handrail.
- Our shared shower room has a deep bath tub.
〈For gentlemen〉
- Men accompanying a woman are welcome.
About Check-in & Check-out
- Check-in 16:00-20:00 (No check-in available except for this time slot).
- Check-out before 10:00.
- There are no staffs at Machiyado except for the check-in time slot.
- We will charge late check-in fee after 20:00.
- We don’t have any curfew after check-in, however, please avoid disturbing residents nearby when you go in and out during night time.
About Your Luggage
- We can’t keep your luggage before check-in nor after check-out. Please use the coin locker at Gujo Hachiman Jokamachi Plaza or Kyuchosha Kinenkan.
- Please take responsibility for your own luggage and valuables.
About Machiyado parking
- 3 of parallel parking spots are available by advance reservation.
- Only a light motor vehicle or compact car can be parked.
- Parking are available after check- in (after 4pm). Please use the public coin parking nearby before 4pm.
- Due to tight fit parallel parking, please be aware that you can not use your car until your check out.
- Vehicles with large engine sound are not accepted.

- We take guests by advance reservation only (No walk-in guests).
- We take reservation by reservation form through our website only (No reservation by phone)
- We take reservation until 8 pm by the day before your scheduled arrival.
Cancellation policy
- * 50% of your total amount will be charged if you do not notify us about your cancellation or any changes by 3 days before your scheduled arrival.
- * 70% of your total amount will be charged if you do not notify us about your cancellation or any changes by the day before your scheduled arrival.
- * 100% of your total amount will be charged if you do not notify us about your cancellation or any changes on your scheduled arrival or No show.
